Account Locked Due to Frequent IP Address Changes
Why does my account get locked when my IP address changes?
Your account has a built-in security system that monitors login activity. If it detects logins from multiple IP addresses, devices, or locations within a short period of time, it is automatically flagged as suspicious (possible account sharing) and the account is temporarily locked.
Common causes of frequent IP changes:
- Switching between Wi-Fi and mobile hotspot
- Using a VPN or VPS
- Unstable or dynamic ISP connections
Does using a VPN affect my account access?
Yes. Using a VPN or VPS while accessing your account/tools is against our Terms of Service. VPNs constantly change your IP address, which triggers the account sharing detection system and can get your account locked. Repeated violations can lead to a permanent ban.
If you must use a VPN for work purposes (e.g., SEO tasks), use the split tunnel or bypass feature in your VPN software so that traffic to the tool/member area does not go through the VPN tunnel.
What should I do if my IP keeps changing?
- Use a single, stable internet connection (avoid switching between Wi-Fi and mobile hotspot).
- Avoid using a VPN or VPS when accessing your account or tools.
- Access your account from a single device/browser instead of switching between multiple devices.
- If you keep getting a 2FA/verification code request, it's because your IP or device changed — using a stable IP and device will stop this from happening.
- If you experience login/verification issues even with a stable connection, try:
- Logging in from a new/incognito browser window
- Creating a new Chrome profile (with no VPN extension installed)
- Clearing your browser cookies
My account got locked — what happens next?
If your account is locked due to detected IP/device changes:
- Contact support with your account email.
- Our security team can manually review and unlock the account.
- You will be reminded not to share your login credentials with anyone and not to use a VPN/VPS.
- Repeated violations (continuing to use VPN or share credentials after being warned) may result in a permanent ban from the system.
Note: Some tools (e.g., Semrush) may require a VPN due to ISP-level blocks in certain countries. In that specific case only, follow the dedicated guide for that tool, which uses a separate access method to avoid triggering security locks.
